Not what you think...LOL! We went to a FREE movie tonight! The last weekend we went to the movies and a women asked if we wanted to see a free animation tonight. Being broke signed up and we went. It was the latest Disney/Pixar movie they are working on :) IT WAS GREAT!! Some of it was still in story board form, so it was a little weird to watch but it was still very entertaining. We also got free popcorn...BONUS :) It was called "UP" and when it comes out in theatre's I would highly recommend it....Cant wait to see it all finished! Opps...how did that pic sneak out...he he

Well, we did it! The run like hell :D it was a 5K (3.2miles) in Portland that went down the waterfront. It was really fun! We dressed up of course as Bill and Karolyn Slowsky...the turtles from the comcast commercials. Here is a picture! I also did something new and interesting yesterday...I went Kayaking with my dad :) It was REALLY scary at first, I thought I was going to tip into the water, but I got the hang of it! It was fun and I cant wait to do it again!!

Watercolor!
OH WHAT FUN!! I believe I have found my new love :) I took a pen and ink with watercolor class this last wednesday. I have not done much with watercolor and it slightly scared me! I have a friend who does it quite a bit and told me about this class that she was going to take. I decided it was a good thing to expand my experiences so I signed up! MAN IS IT UP MY ALLY!! I really like it, a bit of a natural too! With some good pointers and some dicapline I flew for the moon! I think this can be a really good thing....here are a few of what I did in class.

BOYCOT UNITED AIRLINES!
We recently went on a trip to Oklahoma for our friends wedding. I am going to post another thing about the wedding but I want to talk about the HELL we had getting there.....ON UNITED!!! We purchased a package deal through orbitz or hotwire, cant remember which one and got a pretty good deal for the flight, car and hotel. We were supposed to get a email about our flight stuff the week before we left but never received it. We had our confirmation number and flight #'s so we called and they said just go into the counter and use that info, it was fine. They couldn't send out that email because their computers were down because of the hurricane. We were scheduled to fly out Friday morning at 5:54am. We got there before 5am, well say about 10 til and got into line. There was probably a good 40 people in front of us and another 50 or so behind. We finally get up to the kiosk thing and put in our info. It says to pick up the phone that is next to it and talk to a person. We do and the women says that we can not get onto the flight because they have a 45 min check baggage cut off and we were 3 Min's to late for that. I get off the phone and ask to talk to someone. I go up and she says the same, that we had to have our bags checked 45 Min's before the flight time and it was to late so she was going to have to get us on standby for the next flight. So we had no choice and took that and checked our bags, which was another 30 dolor's I might add. We went through security and were tagged to go through their extra security thing were the stick a wand through all off your bags and stick u in this puffer machine that blows air at you really fast and loud!! (we all know I hate loud sounds!) then we had breakfast and waited, and waited and waited!! Luckily because we were nice to the women at the counter and didn't freak out earlier, she was the same women that was at the gate and I think she made sure we made it on! IT WAS GOOD :) We we are crammed in the middle seat squashed clear in the back for the 2 1/2hr flight. We get to Denver and we have to wait again! We are again on stand by for the next flight which left at like 2:30 I think. We eat, hang out, look around and go back to the gate to wait MORE! We didn't get on and the next flight is at 5:30, UGH! So we have to wait some more. The thing that sucked by this point is we were supposed to go to the rehearsal dinner at 7:30 and our flight wasn't scheduled to get in until that time, that's saying we make that flight. So we wait forever again and go down to the gate for this flight about an hour before. The ticket agent said that we were probably not getting onto the flight because they were 1 over and had two standby people in line before us so don't hold our breath! I asked if there was anything else we could do, maybe pay more or use another airline! She said no and there was only one more flight out tonight and that one was about 6 people over sold. I was really frustrated by now and my patience was really thin. She said that there might be a chance that we get one person on and that would be easier then two people but to wait and see what would happen. AGAIN MORE WAITING!! So we decided that if we were going to be split up that would be OK and I was going to go. Then the time came, she called for all the other passengers....then those that wernt here yet! Patiently waiting....she called again......waited more.....Then said, OK, here are your ticked stubs and ran us through the door before anyone else came!! WE WERE LUCKY! We got there OK way after our luggage did which was retarded hence the whole issue was having our bags fallow us! Our rental car went without a hitch and she felt bad that it took us so long to get there that she up grated us for free! So we call our friends who asked us if we can wait for Michelle's friend who should be there any minuet! We say yes and realize that we have to change out or our grubby cloths because our sweats would not be appropriate for the fancy dinner! In the car we are looking at all the compartments and pushing all the buttons when I look down at something at the precise moment Toby's elbow is heading upward and he gets me right in the eye!! IT HURT SO BAD and was watering uncontrollably! What a way to end our wonderful day! We did make it to the dinner, late but we made it with her friend and in one piece....barely! Any I might add, on the way back we made sure we were there extra early. We were in line 1 1/2 hours before we were scheduled to leave. They have a moronic system of checking people in and one agent said to another that most of these people wouldn't make the cut off time and we needed to move them up in line, and the other said OH Well! we barely made the cut off, about 12 Min's shy and we were practically at the front of the line so all the people (probably about 30) behind us were screwed, and I might add that the flight was rather empty hence all the people in line! Absolutely ridiculous! Moral of the story.....DON'T FLY UNITED!! and if you do GO REALLY REALLY EARLY!!

BIG FISHIE!!
So Labor day I went fishing with my dad :) It was great...we caught a total of three fish, but this is how it went down. So we got all set up, got our two chairs out and of course I grabbed a monstrous book! After a few Min's my dad went around to corner to see if they were having any luck. I was getting really into my book and really into the story when the bell started to ring...DING DING!! I immediately looked over to our neighbors to see if they were bringing in a huge honker but they were looking at me. I looked at our poles and one of them was flapping around and the tip was practically splashing in the water!! I ran down there, not really knowing what to do. I grabbed the pole, gave it a nice jerk and started reeling. This puppy was GIGANTIC and a bit of a fighter. It crossed the line of the other pole and made it jerk around and look like there were two at once. Then I see my dad sprinting from around the corner like a gazelle and close behind were the guys next door. In excited frantic movements he is yelling tips to me and looking for the net that was stuck in the door....LOL! I got it in and sadly it was a Chinook Salmon, not a keeper especially since we had an audience ;) So we watched our potential dinner swim away.....awe. Then, about an hour or so later his bell is a ringing so he runs out there, fights the stinker four about 10 or 15 Min's. The fish is jumping and fighting and dragging him from one side of the beach to the other. He gets that baby to shore and its a steelhead....YES....Oh, but it has a fin.....NOOOO! So he had to let him go to because he was a native. Then we SAT and waited forever. I think I read about a 150 pages, did 2 sudoku puzzles and peed about 5 times. We were about to call it a day when the pole started it geriatrics again. I ran down there and grabbed the pole.....THIS ONE WAS RIDICULOUSLY HUGE and a fighter too. It took what seemed like FOREVER! to reel this baby in. It seemed like just when I was making progress it would swim fast and hard away and my line would just zip and zip after it....then I was back at the beginning! The guy was jumping and whipping from side to side. I was reeling as hard as I could until my arms and wrists felt like they were going to fall off!! I got it in AND IT WAS A KEEPER!! we weighed it and my dads scale which is usually light said 20 lbs, so I like to think it was more like 22. It was really heavy holding it so I dunno. It sure made for some great dinner last night :)

Hair Love!

So this morning I had to make a quick stop off to target to return a few items, and purchase a couple things as well. I was in line at the register behind a women that had a horrendous haircut. I was a sad attempt at a a-line bob, so bad that pieces were hanging down the back over the graduation, ledges all over the place....just horrible! I remembered that I had my scissors in my purse, usually don't say anything but I was so sad for her having to walk about in such a hott mess! As I waited for her to finish I thought of how I could gently put it to her that her hair looks like shit and I would like to fix it! After she was through with her stuff I said..."Hey, I don't normally do this, I am a hairstylist and I noticed that your hair needed just a bit of love in the back. If you would like I would be happy to do it, I have my scissors with me! We could go to the bathroom or into the parking lot I don't care." She laughed and looked at me rather in shock! "ya, I noticed that it was really bad, I just went to a super cuts or something, brought a picture but they didn't know what they were doing. I guess it cant get any worse, sure lets do it!" So she waited, I payed and out to the parking lot we went and I cut her hair...LOL!! Before I was knee deep in hair a women walked past, made a comment about how funny it was and entered the store. Before I had finished the same women came by again (This time her hair looks a lot better) and asked if I worked in a salon and if she could get a card! She wanted to make sure that I didn't just do hair in parking lots! The women looked so much better when I was done, I was trying to show her the back in the reflection on the car windows but that was rather unsuccessful. Hopefully I might get two clients out of that :)

EXTRA! EXTRA! ReAd aLL AbOuT It!!!
So tonight we did something rather fun! We went to see a independent film called Kabluhey.....playing at the living room theatre! (across from Powell's books) I head about this film from a client of mine who went to school with the guy who wrote, directed and stared in it. She told me a bit about it, said it was really funny and that was about it....so we decided to go. IT WAS GREAT!!!! Kinda a random story but has some great stars in it...including Lisa Kudrow :) It was about this guy who goes to live with his sister-in law while his brother, her husband, is fighting in Iraq. He goes to watch about her two kids who are total hellions. He gets a job with this large company wearing this large blue suit, and handing out flyer's on the side of the road....a farm road in the middle of no where. Anyway, its a great film! Then after it was done the guy who wrote, directed and stared in it came into the theater and talk about the film and answered questions. It was rather interesting to listen to him talk about his experience. Its a must see :)

You tube STAR !
So this boot camp...I know I talk about it a lot....she had a video made to put onto her web site. It was quite horrible showing up one morning last camp, not so bright eyed and bushy tailed to had us taped while we were tortured. Anyway, I am in it quite a bit... I guess they wanted to show that fat girls can do it to! and who needs a double bra and wouldn't mind if they shaved off the extra chin they added in the end....GROUSE!!

Good deed for the year!
So I was talked into doing something yesterday that I must admit I was a little hesitant. The state of Washington puts on an community event every year to assist family's in need with school supplies and what not. Having a sister in law who helps organize this event every year, I was asked if I would be willing to donate my time and do hair cuts on children at this event. FIRST OF ALL!! I really don't LOVE doing hair cuts on kids. I only do a few, mostly over the age of 10, and they few that are younger, I let them know that if they move I will accidentally cut their ear!! Needless to say, I don't love cutting kids hair. Second, it was on a Tuesday which would mean that I would be taking half the day off of work. And lastly, they only had like 6 stylists last year and they did like 100 people...in three hours! So, reluctantly I agreed AS LONG as I didn't have to move anyone on my books! Feeling pretty confident that I would most likely be full, hence my evenings go quick....to my surprise I WASN'T!! I was just booked till 1pm, perfect timing to make it to the event! Someone really wanted me to participate....UGH! So I said yes. Yesterday comes, I work my half a day then get all my stuff together, not knowing exactly what to bring. I head off to the Marshall center starting to feel a bit nervous! I had no idea what to expect, and not to be rude at all I didn't want to have to deal with any lice or anything like that. Then I hear that 3 stylists wern't going to come...OH NO! more for the ones that show up (Which was only me at that point!) by the time it started people were lined up FOREVER!! I was so nervous....and luckily 5 other stylists showed up, way to be punctual ladies (that's why stylists have such a bad wrap... :) ), and the cutting began. My first girl was about 8, had long REALLY think beautiful red hair, which hadn't seen a brush in quite a while. I felt horrible because it took forever to just brush out all the tangles which I know she wasn't enjoying. I told mom to equipped her with a comb in the shower so when there is conditioner she could comb through it....THEN IT WOULDN'T DREAD!! It was all a bit of a blur after that. One little boy, about 8 or so was quite a kick in the side, just a chatter box...and one comment that was made hit me from the out field, he said "your real pretty lady!" Shocked I laughed...then said thank you. He got pretty quiet after that and the stylist next to me was laughing for quite a while, it was rather funny. I did probably 15 or 20 cuts, and yes there was about 3 a-line bobs in there...best hair cut those little girls will get in a long time! All in all, it wasn't bad. I felt so bad for some of the children...you could tell life wasn't just peachy for all of them. One little girl told her friend that she was glad they had food here because she hadn't eaten since yesterday morning because there was no food in the house...she was about 5 or 6. There were quite a few parents who were on drugs too, you could tell. WOW! I am so grateful for my life and great family support I have. I just wanted to load up so many of these kids and take them home with me! It was quite an amazing experience and I will most defiantly do it again next year....were do I sign up??

Million bucks!!
Yes, that's how I feel!! like a million bucks :) It was the last day of the first camp I will be doing. Next one starts the 11th! I improved slightly from the beginning, I shaved 29 seconds off my mile and did 46 push ups! Granted they were girl push ups but hard core! Yes you can put your knees down but!! You have to keep your feet up in the air and your butt down so your back is straight! and you only have a minuet. Its hard...don't believe me try it yourself :) I really feel good! I am glad that I accomplished what I did and excited for the next one! We got certificates for finishing and I got a perfect attendance medal, i will post a picture! I have also made a goal for myself...I am going to run a marathon! probably next fall! its a huge goal but I should do it while I am young and it will give me something to look forward to and work hard for. Electra said she will do it with me....So the stick figure and the dough ball are stickin together for another obstacle! I also went to see Mama Mia last night with a few of my favorite people and it was GREAT!! I will have to buy it and I would recommend it to any one!

Changes!
So I have begun an adventure on self renewal! It all started about a month ago when a girl from work came in talking about this boot camp someone told her about. With out thinking I said "SIGN ME UP!!" We looked into in and after learning about the difficult workout and the outrageous hour of 530 in the Am's.....I couldn't back out. People, including my husband (who knows I didnt get up early for anything...including a fire) didn't believe that we could do it. But us being stubborn women we were going to prove them wrong. So 530 came on day one and we were there, ready to conquer the world...that only lasted throught the warm up! IT WAS HARD! However hard it was, just when I thought I couldnt do another sit up or leg lift it was over, and we would move onto something else. I felt amazing after...extreamily exhausted and sore but great. My insides were more alive then they had been in a while and it was good :) So I figured that I might as well work on all the other things that made me mad at my self....like give up drinking coffee!! Cold turkey! I worked on my eating habbits and now I am pretty pickey about what I eat. When I go of course and eat something....for example processed or with white sugar I feel like SHIT FOR 2 DAYS!!! not worth it... so I think before I eat! I feel great and now I am a month in and addicted! I have already committed to another three weeks of torture and four weeks after that...but it will be 5 days a week then. Something that has been happening is that I am more aware of my body. I feel things and take note of thing going on...I dont know if its because I am off my fat butt and moving or if its because I read a new earth by Eckhart Tolle but its been an adventure. I really have a lot more emotion, or I notice it more I dont know. For example...this morning after bootcamp I come home and have my ritual breakfast lots of green tea, fiber and fish oil (yum...not!) and watch the today show. They did this piece on these two men that in their 20's in London they found this lion cub for sale in some store, I think they said Harrods. They felt bad for it being in such a small cage so they purchased it. They raised it that year and grew very close. When he was big they released him back into the wild in Africa. Then a year or so later they decided to find him and visit him. Ok, I guess I should preface this...Its not that time of the month, and this story is touching but this is pathetic. Anyway, the lion see's them and runs, gives them hugs and kisses, cant stay off of them. So much love in the air. He introduces them to his wife lion....so cute. Well, I am watching this over my whole grain ceryal and CRYING like a Baby....Balling, like I just found out someone died!!!! How sad am I. I noticed the other day that there was a sweet commercial on TV that almost made me cry! UGH...this is rediculos. I have to hold back the damn at work sometimes because a client will tell me a sweet story and its all I can do not to cry! I DIDNT USED TO BE LIKE THIS!! Anyway, thats whats going on in my neck of my woods.....Still Crazy!

How to get out of a traffic ticket!
I had a client tell me a really funny story the other day and I thoght I would pass it on! She has a daughter, about 17 or 18. Her daughter was going down the freeway in the right hand land about 20 or so over the speed limit and a cop of course pulls her over. She get a brillant idea while waiting for the officer to approach her window and begins the squirm in her seat. "Do you know why I pulled you over mam?" he says. "Yes sir, I was speeding because I have to pee really bad. I am sorry but its incredibly painful and I have to go so bad!" she replies still wiggling. " I would really appreciate it if you could fallow me up to the gas station off this exit so I can use the little girls room and then we can continue with this??" Reluctantly the officer agreed and he went to his car. She pulled back into traffic for a bit then pulled back over just after exiting before the gas station. She had a bottle of water in the car which she proceeded to poar a bit on herself to apear that she had peed. The officer comes back up to the car slightly confused and she blurts out...."To late, lets just get this over with so I can run home and change." Somehow she also manages to squeeze out a tear and apear bright red with imbaresment. The officer takes her license and such and goes back to his car. Remember she was going at least 20 over and this would have been a significant ticket! The officer comes back and says, "I think you have gone through enough I am going to let you off with a warning but there is no excuse to speed and please use the restroom before you get into your car!!"
I was laughing so hard when my client was telling me this and I thought I would pass it on so someone else might use it.......Just keep a bottle of water handy and pray its not the same officer :)

day 1...
Ok....I did it! I broke down and started a blog. I guess I did only because every one else has one, and I figure if any one wants to know what I am up to this could be a good way to keep tabs. What to write about......I dont know yet, I guess I will do as I go! Today I got up at 5:30 in the AM's, to early for any sane activity, to go to boot camp. I am a little drained right now, but I should make it through my day! Boot camp has kicked my booty, but I am glad that I am doing it :) ok, more later....heres some cute pics of my furry daughters~
